Parental consent will be required for under 16s. Please let me know beforehand if you are under 16 or suggesting a session for someone under 16. I will send a parental consent form for completion prior to the session.

What do I need to bring?

All equipment is provided. If coming for a one to one session, you can choose whether to lay on a treatment couch or on a yoga mat. If laying down is uncomfortable for you, or you have other mobility issues meaning that getting on the floor is challenging, please let me know as I can provide a chair instead.

Clients should wear loose, warm and comfortable clothing. If coming for a vibrational sound massage, try to avoid wearing anything on your top half with straps, underwires or belts.

I will create a warm, cosy and supportive environment, and you do not need any prior experience with sound therapy or other sound treatments to attend.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the session?

  1. Wear loose, warm and comfortable clothing.

  2. Avoid eating a large meal directly before a session so as to be as comfortable as possible.

  3. Drink a small quantity of water beforehand and bring some with you to drink.

  4. 4. Avoid alcohol beforehand.

Do I need to do anything at the session?

No, you simply lay on a mat and relax as the instruments are played to you.

When should I arrive?

Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes before to allow time to get settled so that the session can start on time.

Is there any parking?

Yes, clients can park off road on our drive.

Allergies

I sometimes use essential oils (such as lavender, orange blossom, eucalyptus) within the studio. If you have any allergies to any essential oils, please let me know in advance.

Accessibility

Please note that there are a series of steps from our front driveway leading to our studio. If you have mobility issues meaning that steps are a challenge for you, we can arrange alternative parking to the rear of our property.

Isn’t this all a bit wacky and “alternative”?

Although the introduction of mainstream soundbaths is relatively recent, sound healing is not a new concept; sound has been used for thousands of years as a means to help people to be able to relax and to find a sense of stillness and calm.

Meditation is commonly used by people to help them to stop for a moment and allow their thoughts to calm down. People often find it difficult to meditate however as they say that they cannot still their mind; their thoughts are constantly darting from one thought to the next about what they need to be doing, where they need to be going, what happened yesterday and what they need to do for tomorrow. A soundbath is a great way to introduce people to meditation as hearing the sounds of the instruments, as well as feeling the physical sensation of the vibrations caused by the sounds of the instruments around them, are powerful tools to be able to help distract people from their normal thoughts. When people are in this state of meditation, the brain has a chance to better organise itself, and not to tie itself up in knots attaching emotions to all the thoughts whirring around their heads.

There is growing scientific research to demonstrate the ability that sound has to be able to help people to heal. Below are some articles which you may find useful:
